Salida, CO: From July 25 – August 3, 2025, the Chaffee County Fair Committee will host the
38th annual Chaffee County Fair & Rodeo. The Fair is held at the Fairgrounds at 10165 County
Road 120, Salida, CO 81201. The Chaffee County Fair Committee hosts two Colorado
Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) rodeos at 7 pm on July 25 and July 26.
Rodeo admission tickets are sold at the gate. All other events during the Fair are free of charge.
Over 5,000 guests are anticipated at the week’s rodeos, 4-H livestock shows, kids’ fun days,
concerts, dances, horse shows, and other activities.
The Colorado State University Extension Office located in Salida operates 4-H programming for
Chaffee and Lake County youth. Over 120 local 4-Her’s will exhibit their projects at the County
Fair. 4-H is America’s largest youth development organization, having supported almost six
million youth across the country thus far. 4-H reaches over 110,000 youth in Colorado annually,
helping them become confident, independent, resilient and compassionate leaders. 4-H’ers learn
critical life skills through experiential projects in areas such as animal science, arts, family
consumer science, natural resources, and mechanical sciences.
All are invited to see open class and 4-H exhibits in the Exhibit Hall 9 am – 6 pm July 30 –
August 2. 4-H animal shows include the horse show on July 27, dog show on July 28, poultry
and rabbit shows on July 30, swine, sheep, goat, and beef shows on July 31, and round robin
showmanship competitions on August 1. The Junior Market Livestock Sale & Silent Auction
will be held on Friday August 1 at 6 pm in the North Building. People interested in supporting 4
H at the sale can register on-site with the Chaffee County Fair Foundation and attend a buyers’
reception at 4:30 pm on Friday August 1. Fair activities conclude on the evening of August 2.
