It’s hunting season and Colorado Parks and Wildlife want to remind hunters, hikers, bikers, leaf peepers and OHV users that Colorado’s outdoors are intended to be shared.

For safety reasons, bug game hunters using a firearm must wear fluorescent orange or pink when in the field. While not required, it is recommended that other recreation users were these colors as well. Hunters and non-hunters alike should show respect and courtesy to all users engaged in outdoor recreation activities.

The U.S. Forest Service is opening Forest Service Road 272 in the Browns Creek area in time for the three hunting seasons that open tomorrow. The Browns Creek area has been closed since the first of the month for a controlled burn.  Crews have finished the 2,200 acre burn and are reopening the area.

However, be advised there are still a few smoldering areas and people should be aware of their surroundings for their safety.
