Search and Rescue crews from Saguache and Gunnison counties rescued a hypothermic hunter over the weekend in the Gunnison National Forest.
Officials say the hunter, soaked by storms and snow, called for help, reporting he couldn’t walk and was relying on an emergency blanket and tarp to stay warm. GPS coordinates were retrieved just before his phone died, allowing crews to find him in a remote area.
The hunter was treated with heat packs, food, and water before being returned safely to his vehicle.
