SALIDA, Colo.—Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is now offering laboratory services – including direct access testing – at the Salida Health Center, located at 550 W. Hwy. 50 in Salida.
This is a convenient option for community members living on or near Hwy. 50 in Salida or in Poncha Springs may not wish to travel to the main hospital campus to have lab tests completed. This is also a benefit for patients of the Salida Health Center clinic to have lab tests completed at the same location – and oftentimes, on the same day – as their primary care appointments.
The clinic provides all laboratory tests with the exception of drug testing at this time.
Patients may also utilize Direct Access Testing (DAT) at the Salida Health Center. DAT is comprised of a set menu of 21 tests, without a physician’s order needed, offered at discounted prices. Insurance is not billed for DAT. Tests include blood chemistry, lipid panel, serum pregnancy, hemoglobin A1c, and glucose, among others. Laboratory services are available Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the clinic.
