Salida High School is a busy place right now, with multiple sports getting rolling this week, as well as a mad dash for teachers in the final preparations for school to once again begin.
I headed over the Salida on Tuesday to chat with Activities Director Jim Coscarella as the student body once again gets set for the fall, with football, volleyball, cross country, golf, mountain biking, cheer, band, drama and plenty clubs and groups to take part in, it’s always good to get a look at what is going on from the top of the pile.
Broadcasts of Salida athletics begin on Tuesday, August 27th with volleyball at Lake County. Football begins their season on the 30th at Summit. Both games can be heard on your exclusive home for the Spartans, The Peak 92.3.
This led him to Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University) in Grand Junction, where he became the Sports Director at KMSA 91.3 in just his sophomore year. By the time he graduated, Caleb built a broadcasting program that covered nearly 400 games in the two and a half years.
2018 was his first year as a member of Heart of the Rockies Radio, and Caleb helped bring over 200 games and local games to the airwaves, and he is looking forward to continuing that path this season as the sports program continues to grow!
