Grants Awarded to Organizations to Help Improve Lives of Older Adults and Caregivers

The NextFifty Initiative has announced that over $120,000 in grants have been awarded to five organizations in Central Colorado that are working to improve the lives of older adults and their caregivers.

Recipients in our area include:

Senior Services Solutions Plus will use its $16,000 grant to provide medical and dental transportation for older adults in Fremont County.

The Alliance will use its $25,000 grant to improve the accessibility of its website and office as well as create marketing materials that are more welcoming to older adults. The Alliance empowers individuals beyond domestic and sexual violence in Chaffee, Fremont and Saguache counties. The Alliance is looking to increase older adult participation in its services by at least 25 percent.

Ark Valley Helping Hands will use its $25,000 grant to continue supporting older adults with independence at home as well as connectivity to the local community. Ark Valley Helping Hands provides rides to medical appointments, grocery delivery and basic in-home tasks that allow older adults to live independently.
