Golf for Salida and Buena Vista wrap up conference play

The Buena Vista Demons boys golf team finished in 4th place in the Tri-Peaks Conference golf standings as a team, finishing a scant 10 strokes back of La Junta for third place. Salida would take 7th in the 10 team league standings, finishing ahead of Colorado Springs Christian, Florence and James Irwin in the standings.

Buena Vista’s Kik Molitor and Chandler Smethers would finish in 11th and 12th respectively in league standings after the three tournaments at Sumo, Hollydot and PCC. Cole Reavis would come in 15th with Salida’s Miles Murphy taking 17th. No other local golfers would make it into the top 30 through the three tournament stretch.

Both Salida and Buena Vista have several tournaments to wrap up before regionals in Aspen later in September.
