Ballots for the June 30th Primary continue to be returned to the Chaffee County Clerk’s Office. 

As of the end of business yesterday:

  • 34% (1,242) of registered Democrats have returned their ballots
  • 29% (1,254) Republican ballots have been returned
  • 21% (1,205) of Unaffiliated voters

Voters are encouraged to not put their ballot in the mail and drop off their ballot in the 24/7 drop boxes in Salida and Buena Vista. Ballots must be received by 7 pm on Election Day, June 30th, postmarks do not count. 

A Vote Camp full-service vote center opened yesterday. It is located in the park across from the courthouse at 104 Crestone Avenue. Voters can drive through to drop off their ballot, vote in person, obtain a replacement ballot, or register to vote and then cast a ballot. 

Vote camp is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm, Saturday 8 am to 12 noon and Sunday 10 am to 2 pm. 

The Chaffee County Clerk’s Office remains closed to the public, but they have an information tent set up outside (weather permitting) where staff can help you with motor vehicle transactions and recordings.
