Widespread critical to extreme fire weather conditions will be likely through the weekend and into next week. No open burning is allowed.
Winds will be gusting to 30 mph out of the southwest. Smoke from wildfires in New Mexico may be visible during the afternoon hours.

Salida and Buena Vista can expect a high of 79. Look for an overnight low of 45.
The San Luis Valley will see a high of 67, a low of 41.
Leadville and Fairplay will warm up to 57 with a low of 35.
