Snow will spread over southern Colorado today. 

Up to 16 inches could fall over the San Juan’s, up to 8 inches is expected in the higher elevations of the Sawatch and Sangre de Cristo mountains. 

The lower elevations in and near the mountains will see a trace to up to 3 inches.  However, temperatures will warm above freezing which should result in sufficient melting to limit accumulations to grassy surfaces.

Salida and Buena Vista will see a high of 45, an overnight low of 27. 

The San Luis Valley will warm up to 49, a low of 23.     

Leadville and Fairplay will see a high of 33, a low of 17.    

Drier and warmer weather returns for the weekend with another storm system expected to bring snow to the mountains next week.
