The Fremont County Department of Health has reopened. The department was closed for nearly a month following a cyber attack.
Almost all Fremont County buildings have remained closed since the attack on August 17th. A state investigation determined that the cybersecurity attack resulted from BlackCat ransomware.
The Health Department is reaching out to patients that missed appointments since the system went down and rescheduling them.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas.
Dan attended Arkansas State University from 1978 to 1982--where he picked up the name "Dan R" after his fraternity brothers couldn’t pronounce his last name. He lived in Jonesboro for 10 years working in radio and as a TV weatherman. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado.
Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
