January 24th was the deadline to submit Petitions for Nomination for the office of Mayor and the four Trustee positions in Buena Vista.

The petitions have been verified, and the following candidates are eligible for office.

Mayor (Four-year term of office expiring in 2026)

• Libby Fay

Trustees (Three positions to serve a four-year term of office expiring in 2026, and one position with a term that will expire in 2024, filling the vacancy created in 2021)

• Mark Jenkins
• Gina Lucrezi
• Susan Cobb
• Cindie Swisher

The last date to file an Affidavit of Intent for Write-In Candidate is Monday, January 31, 2022 (64 days before Election Day.) The last day to withdraw a Nomination Petition is Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

If The Board of Trustees adopts a resolution canceling the election and declares the candidates elected, the candidates can agree on who holds which term or a lot drawing be held to determine which candidate will fill the term expiring in 2024.

The Mayor and Trustees will begin their term of office on April 26, 2022.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado.
