[UPDATE] The Gunnison County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that there were only three “badly decomposed” bodies discovered, rather than five as originally reported.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, a hiker discovered one body Sunday evening in the woods near the Gold Creek Campground, located in Gunnison County about 7 miles from Ohio City. Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to the site and found two more bodies.
All three were in an advanced state of decomposition.
Gunnison County Sheriff’s Investigator Skye Wells told the Denver Post that the matter is under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
