The Alamosa Police Department reports it received a notification from the FBI on Sunday regarding a social media post containing a bomb threat directed toward the San Luis Valley Regional Airport.

According to police, the FBI said the post included a threat to detonate an explosive device at the airport and provided information identifying a potential suspect.

Alamosa Police officers immediately evacuated the airport and arrested the suspect, identified as 18-year-old David Mejia of Denver, in the airport lobby.

Following a search, officers found no evidence of explosives at the scene.

Mejia was charged with making a false report of explosives, endangering public transportation, and making terroristic threats. He was booked into the Alamosa County Jail.
