Salida, CO – Endurance Meets Empathy invites the community to an evening of honest conversation, storytelling, and connection exploring how athletics, resilience, and mental health intersect in Chaffee County.

The evening begins with a short film, followed by an open discussion featuring local athletes Travis Macy, Kenny Wilcox, Gina Lucrezi, Imogen Ainsworth, Zach Moore, Pete Lardy, Ray Naypaver, and Anthony Duricy, and with Andrea Carlstrom facilitating the conversation.

In a county where endurance, adventure, and grit are part of everyday life, the event offers space to also talk about rest, struggle, and healing.

Together, the community will:

  • Explore mental health challenges faced by athletes of all ages and abilities
  • Break down the stigma around seeking help
  • Hear personal stories of strength, recovery, and hope
  • Learn ways to support one another, our youth, and our neighbors

This free event is open to everyone: athletes, coaches, parents, weekend adventurers, and anyone who cares about community well-being.

Disclaimer: Discussions will include themes of mental health, trauma, and suicide. Light snacks provided. No RSVP required.

Join in as we celebrate strength, empathy, and connection, for the athlete in all of us.
