Elizabeth Jean Holman, age 96 of Salida, passed on April 29, 2025 at Columbine Manor Care Center in Salida. Mrs. Holman was born March 19, 1929 in Saguache, CO to Ernest C. and Madeline (Woodson) Kimberlin. Mrs. Holman moved to Salida in 1944. She married Edward George Holman in 1946 in Canon City, CO. She worked as a long distance operator for Mountain Bell for 11 ½ years before retiring in 1976. Mrs. Holman loved music, at a young age she played in her father’s orchestra playing the drums. She later moved on to playing the piano. She was a past member of the Notables and the Chaffee County Cowbells. She was a lifelong rancher in the Salida area. Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters Mabel Hall and Ada Vaupel and sister Freda Fischer. She is survived by her sons Frank (Sherry) Holman of Salida/Arizona, Edward (Pete) Holman of Arizona, daughters Betsy (Jerry) Carter of Florence, CO and Edie (Terry) Ritterbush of West Virginia, brother Ronald Kimberlin of Denver, CO, 20 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
