This August, your compassion for shelter animals goes twice as far at Ark-Valley Humane Society. Thanks to the generosity of a group of dedicated donors: Junia & Bill Fitzgerald, Judy Hamontre, Donna Hassinger & Stephen Williams, Sarah & Bob McMahon, Cindy & Mike Newell, Greg & Ruth Phillips, and Tom Purvis, every dollar donated throughout the month of August will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $16,200—doubling your impact!
These funds are critical in helping Ark-Valley Humane Society provide life-changing care for homeless pets in Chaffee County and beyond. From helping to allow for the completion of necessary medical treatment, to daily essentials and adoption services, every matched gift helps give homeless pets the second chance at the life they deserve.
In addition to sheltering services, AVHS also provides a range of pet-retention services, including a free Pet Food and Limited Supply Pantry, free Behavior Intervention Training vouchers, and Community Financial Assistance Spay/Neuter vouchers.
“Through our programs and services, we have helped almost 1,000 animals this year already,” said Nikki Ritter, Executive Director at Ark-Valley Humane Society. “This matching campaign allows us to do even more—with your support, we can transform lives, ease suffering, and make happy endings possible.”
The August Matching Campaign runs from August 1 to August 31, 2025 and all donations made during this time will be matched, up to $16,200. Help AVHS reach their goal to receive the full match!
