Yesterday was a step towards closure for people who trusted a funeral home in Penrose with their loved ones.  Demolition of the Return to Nature Funeral Home started yesterday after months of delays.

A ceremony was held before demolition began to give families of the victims closure and peace.

In October of last year investigators found 190 bodies improperly stored inside.  Fremont County Coroner Randy Keller said there are still 17 bodies they are trying to identify.

Co-owners Jon and Carie Hallford could face life in prison following 15 federal criminal charges on top of 260 state charges.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the demolition will take 10 days.
