Custer County Public Health Continues to Defy the Colorado State Department of Health

On their Facebook page today Custer County Public Health posted: “The Custer County Board of Health’s courageous vote to return to normal has empowered the citizens and businesses of Custer County to implement their own best practices.”

“Our citizens and businesses can now choose how and when to progress. Custer County businesses are making independent decisions on how to operate and citizens are given back the freedom to choose.”

“The Custer County Public Health Agency (CCPHA) will continue its vigilance over COVID-19 recovery efforts and is available to help businesses establish best practices for a return to normalcy. Currently CEDRS (Colorado Disease Reporting System), reports Custer County’s Covid-19 Statistics as: 2,466 COVID tests; 164 positive test results; 1 death; 0 Hospitalizations; 0 positivity for 2+ weeks. Custer County residents have received a total of 1,804 total COVID-19 vaccinations. This total does not include the many Custer County residents who have received their vaccinations from other counties.”

“For months Governor Polis has championed the ability of Colorado’s counties to govern themselves to act in their own best interests. The Custer County Board of Health is proud to carry this idea forward. The CCPHA is uniquely able to monitor and support its residents and will remain vigilant regarding the medical, social and fiscal health of our citizens.”

“The Board of Health will meet Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. to discuss the latest data and the way ahead. Custer County’s decision to lift all COVID-19 restrictions remains in place. The citizens and businesses of Custer County are encouraged to continue implementing safety protocols at their own discretion.”
