Currents sees business still booming during COVID

For restaurants in Chaffee County, the summer months can be make or break, and with the current pandemic, there were nervous faces heading into the summer.

Currents bartender Diamond Redfeather

At Currents in downtown Salida, they also were preparing for a slower time at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, but as things began re-opening, and with the arrival of tourists and the closing of two blocks of F Street, a lack of business has not been the problem according to Diamond Redfeather, who tends bar there.

Once they reopened, Diamond actually says they were able to gain some extra tables with the street space outdoors and they have had to actually hire on a few more staff.

With business booming, he says the current mood has also been a positive one around the staff as well as the customers as they look forward to what will hopefully be a continuation of that during the summer!
