CSP Investigates Wednesday Night Fatal Crash

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal rollover crash that occurred on U.S. Highway 24, near Milepost 224 (Trout Creek Pass).

At 7:43 PM last night, A 2013 Dodge Ram pickup was westbound on Highway 24. The Dodge traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a delineator post and a highway sign. The Dodge continued off road and traveled down a steep embankment, where it overturned multiple times. The Dodge came to rest on its left side.

The driver of the Dodge, a 36 year old male from Northglenn, was transported to Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The name of the driver is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

A 16 year old male passenger in the Dodge was transported to the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, and was released with minor injuries.

The crash resulted in a partial closure of the highway for two hours.
