Crest Academy in Salida is now accepting candy donations for Halloween. The Crest Candy Collection Project is a decade-long service project intended to offset the financial pressure for residents on F Street who distribute candy on Halloween. F Street residents receive upwards of 1,400 trick-or-treaters per home on Halloween night.

The Crest Academy collects candy from our community which is then distributed to the houses. Crest 8th graders lead the project, and calculate data on how much candy is collected. This year they also have a new incentive partnership with High Country Bank for the 2026 Candy Collection Project. High Country Bank will donate $500 to the project if they collect 500 pounds of candy at their Salida locations by Monday, October 26th. This $500 will then be used to buy supplemental candy to fill in any gaps missing from the requests
