Covid-19 Vaccine is on the Way

Colorado will be getting a little over 46,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the state’s first order, and according to Governor Jared Polis, another batch of 96,000 vaccines will be coming shortly after that.

Colorado expects to get the first shipment between Sunday and next Wednesday, another shipment should arrive a week later.  The state is expecting vaccine shipments every week after the initial deliveries.

The Colorado National Guard is helping organize the distribution.

The first round of vaccines will be aimed at healthcare workers, along with EMS, firefighters, police, correctional workers, and other first responders.

In the spring, the vaccine will be distributed to “higher-risk individuals and essential workers.”

The general public is expected to get access to the vaccine by summer.

The vaccine will be free and eventually will be available in every county in the state.
