Chaffee County Records 31 New Cases of COVID-19

Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 31 new Covid-19 cases in the last 7 days, 50 in the last 14 days, for a 2-week positivity rate of 3.35 percent. 

Heart of the Rockies Medical Center currently has 2 Covid-19 patients and is at 76 percent capacity. 

Chaffee County Public Health is conducting a Covid-19 vaccination clinic today from 2 to 4:30 pm and tomorrow from 3 to 6 pm.  Both clinics are at Riverside Park. Look for the Public Health trailer and signage.

The clinics are for ages 12 plus. No appointment is necessary.

To date, almost 20,000 Covid-19 doses have been administered to Chaffee County residents.  60 percent of eligible Chaffee County residents have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, 54 percent had been fully immunized.   

Chaffee County’s updated Covid Code of Conduct includes:

  1. Get vaccinated.
  2. Stay home if sick.
  3. Get tested if experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.
  4. Wash your hands.
  5. Respect the Covid-19 safety protocols for individual businesses.
  6. Physical distance if unvaccinated, and
  7. Wear a mask indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces if unvaccinated.

If you’ve been vaccinated against Covid-19 you could win $1 million dollars. 

Governor Jared Polis has announced a new program called “Colorado Comeback Cash,” which will feature five $1 million prizes given out starting Friday, June 4th. Anyone who has been vaccinated before June 1st is eligible in the first drawing. 

Subsequent drawings will be held on June 11th, 18th, 25th, and July 7th. 

As part of this public health initiative, the Colorado Lottery will conduct a random weekly drawing on behalf of the Colorado Department of Health to identify one vaccinated Colorado resident each week to win a million-dollar cash prize. 

All Colorado residents 18 and older who have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, as determined by eligibility rules, are automatically entered into the drawing.
