Covid-19 Update: Custer County Outbreak, Saguache in Green, Chaffee Continues Vaccines

The Wet Mountain Tribune is reporting a Covid-19 outbreak at Custer County Schools.

The school stated in an email that this is a “limited student staff quarantine” with 30 students and several teachers in quarantine.

The Tribune says that while tracing has been started, there is no local tracing organization and it must be completed by state resources from a remote location with the help of the school cohort planning strategy and student schedules.

Superintendent Mike McFalls stated, “Just to reiterate if you have not been contacted directly then you have not been exposed and do not need to test.”

Saguache County continues to follow the State of Colorado’s Level Green guidelines which allows for 50 percent maximum capacity in restaurants and bars.

Saguache County also continues to follow the statewide mask mandate.  The statewide mask order is in effect through at least May 4th.

Chaffee County Public is still offering Covid-19 vaccinations for the general public.

People seeking a first-dose vaccination appointment can call 539-4510 or send an email to health@chaffeecounty.org to schedule.
