Cottonwood Pass is closed as of today. Gates on the Chaffee County and Gunnison County sides will both be locked by 9am.
Cottonwood Pass crosses the Continental Divide at 12,120 feet, connecting Chaffee and Gunnison counties. The Pass is closed for the winter due to heavy snow accumulation.
Chaffee County Road 306 is not maintained beyond the winter closure gate near the Denny Creek Trailhead. Motor vehicles, with the exception of snowmobiles, are not permitted beyond the closure gate
