A correctional officer at the Fremont Correctional Facility in Canon City has been arrested after allegedly bringing methamphetamine into the facility.
32-year-old Kyle Tatro is facing on felony count of first-degree introduction of contraband.
Tatro told authorities he was paid $250 to bring the drugs into the prison. He also admitted to being paid $340 in cash the first time he brought drugs into the facility.
Tatro has been with the department since 2019. He is currently free on $2,500 personal bail.
Tatro will next appear in court August 16.
