The Colorado State Patrol is partnering with local law enforcement agencies for the “Heat Is On” Winter Blitz DUI enforcement period, which runs through the 21st.
During the enforcement campaign, drivers can expect to see increased saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints aimed at identifying and removing impaired drivers from Colorado roadways.
Law enforcement officials say the effort is focused on improving public safety during the winter months, when impaired driving can be especially dangerous due to weather and road conditions. Drivers are reminded to plan ahead, use a designated driver, or choose alternative transportation if they plan to drink.
