Colorado’s snowpack remains at historically low levels, but recent storms are helping the state make up some ground.
A spring-like snow pattern over the past week has boosted the statewide snowpack from 52 percent of median to 58 percent of median. While still well below average, the increase marks a noticeable improvement compared to last week’s numbers.
Despite the gains, conditions remain concerning in parts of the state. The Arkansas River Basin is currently the only basin in Colorado sitting below 50 percent of median, measuring at just 44 percent this week.
Water managers continue to monitor snowpack levels closely as the state moves toward the critical spring runoff season.
