Colorado Snowpack at 91% of Average

Recent snowstorms have increased the statewide snowpack to 91 percent of average, but it has also increased the risk of avalanches.

One skier and two snowmobilers died this week from avalanches.  This marks 11 deaths in Colorado this season.

All avalanche zones remain at a considerable danger level.  Take caution in all backcountry zones and try to avoid slopes at a 30-degree angle or higher.

More snow is expected in the mountains this weekend.
