Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold has officially announced her candidacy for Colorado Attorney General. Current Attorney General Phil Weiser is stepping down to run for governor.
In her statement, Griswold said she intends to “stand up to Donald Trump,” defend civil liberties, and fight for working families. She was first elected Secretary of State in 2018 and reelected in 2022.
Other candidates in the race include Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty and former State Representative Crisanta Duran.
