Colorado Reaches 70% Vaccination Rate-More Clinics Scheduled

Governor Jared Polis announced over the weekend that Colorado has reached 70 percent of adults who have received at least 1 dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

To date, just over 3 million Coloradans have been immunized with one dose. 2.9 million are fully immunized.

Everyone 12 years of age and older is now eligible to get the Covid-19 vaccination.

Chaffee County Public Health is hosting several free, walk up Covid-19 vaccination clinics this week.

On Wednesday, Public Health will be at the Salida Community Center at 305 F Street from 10 to 11 am.  At this clinic you can enter to win one of twenty $50 gift cards from Walmart. Wednesday night, another vaccine clinic will be held at the Salida Middle School from 4 to 7 pm. At this clinic you have an opportunity to win one of three $100 gift cards to Amica’s Pizza, courtesy of High Country Bank.

On Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm you can walk up for your vaccine at the State’s Mobile Vaccine Bus. The bus will be parked at the Buena Vista High School front parking lot. The bus will be in Salida on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm both days at Thonhoff Park near the Chaffee County Courthouse.

All Covid-19 vaccines are free and no photo ID or insurance is needed.
