Newly released data from the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) shows that marijuana sales have now generated more than $3 billion in revenue since legalization.
In July alone, marijuana sales brought in $20 million statewide. Since the start of 2025, sales have totaled $139 million.
Colorado became the first state to legalize recreational marijuana in 2012, with sales beginning in 2014. The revenue supports a variety of state programs, including education, public health, and infrastructure.
