The Colorado Court of Appeals has reversed the murder conviction of Leticia Stauch, who was found guilty in May 2023 in the death of her stepson, Gannon Stauch.
In a decision issued by a three-judge panel, the court remanded the case for a new trial, citing concerns related to juror impartiality. The issue centered on a juror whose son-in-law worked as a deputy district attorney in the same office as District Attorney Michael Allen, who prosecuted the case.
Stauch had been convicted in connection with the January 2020 killing of Gannon Stauch.
She is currently being held at the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility as legal proceedings continue.
