The boat ramp at Clear Creek Reservoir will remain closed throughout the 2026 season as Pueblo Water carries out critical improvements to the dam. For safety reasons, the campground is also closed effective immediately and will remain inaccessible during the construction period.
Despite these closures, the Chaffee County reservoir is still open to anglers. Fishing from shore is permitted, and visitors may continue to use hand-launched watercraft such as kayaks and canoes. However, motorized boat launches will be suspended for the duration of the summer.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is taking advantage of the closure to enhance the site, including extending the boat ramp to improve access during low water levels and completing necessary campground maintenance.
The boat ramp is anticipated to reopen in time for the full 2027 season.
