In a press release, Chaffee County Sheriff, Andy Rohrich layed out the progress in updating the joint Tactical Team agreement made up of members from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, the Salida Police Department and the Buena Vista Police Department.

To oblige with the inter-governmental agreement that had been put in place a few years earlier, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office had to resign from the existing agreement and team in order to make important changes. The Buena Vista Police Department also followed by resigning from the team and agreement.

Rohrich explained that this was a necessary step that had to be taken by the agreement standards so that they could reorganize. The sheriff emphasized the tactical team is still in place and is stronger than ever, asserting that they have a highly trained team of dedicated men and women ready to answer the call and there will not be a lapse in service or readiness.

He added that the departments are now engaging in meetings to make critical improvements in the Tactical Team Agreement to better serve both communities.
