Chaffee County Evacuations Lifted

Good news for residents evacuated from their homes on Methodist Mountain.

Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze has lifted the evacuation orders for Methodist Estates and Boot Hill subdivisions and all other residents who access their homes through County Road 108 as well as the Chaffee County Residents who reside on County Road 101, Bear Creek.

Residents are asked to check in with sheriff personnel starting at 10 am this morning at the check point on County Road 108.

Only residents and service personnel will be allowed into the area as there are still firefighters and fire activity in the area.

All affected residences will remain on pre-evacuation alert.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the pre-evacuation status for the eastern half of Howard. The western half of Howard and Pine Ridge remain under pre-evacuation status.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office lifted the pre-evacuation order for Wellsville and Swissvale on Monday.
