Chaffee County Women Who Care has chosen Jane’s Place to receive the group’s quarterly donation of $100 per member, for a total of $11,600.
The group is made up of more than 100 local women who gather four times per year to select a local nonprofit to financially support.
Jane’s Place has a mission to provide safe, stable and affordable housing for people in housing transition and is named in honor of Jane Whitmer. The new development will be on the corner of Highway 291 and 3rd Street.
Jane’s Place will have 17 rental units, providing transitional housing for a minimum of 48 residents. It will also have space for a nonprofit development center and a coffee shop.
Jane’s Place is scheduled to open next summer.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
