Envision Chaffee County is reporting that the Chaffee County Trails System and Conservation Plan is well underway after meeting several major milestones this year.
In 2023, a coalition of outdoor recreation leaders secured grant funds, hired a team of expert trail planners, and began working to identify top priorities to improve trails and conserve natural resources across all lands in Chaffee County.
The public is encouraged to get involved to shape this community-driven plan. Several public meetings will be held over the next 18-months, with the first to be scheduled in the Spring of 2024. In the meantime, you can review the planning project webpage at envisionchaffeecounty.org and sign up to stay informed.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
