The Chaffee County Common Ground Competitive Grant Program will open its annual grant cycle on July 20, making $450,000 available to support projects throughout Chaffee County.

Funding is available for projects that align with the program’s core goals of strengthening forest health, conserving working ranches and farms, and managing the impacts of growth on the county’s outdoor resources.

The grant program is administered by the Chaffee County Community Foundation and is open to government agencies and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Eligible projects may be located on public or private lands within Chaffee County. Officials note that no new multi-year grant requests will be considered during this funding cycle.

An informational webinar for prospective applicants will be held tomorrow via Zoom. Grant applications open July 20, and the deadline to apply is August 28.
