On June 5th, 2025 the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit, Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office HIT (High Impact Traffic) Team and additional Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies completed a drug investigation that led to a search warrant being executed in the 400 block of Chipeta Ave in Poncha Springs, CO (Chaffee County).
Inside the home 3.7 grams of Cocaine was seized along with other items considered to be drug paraphernalia. The suspect in the case and occupant of the home, Jacob Lee Phillips age 30 of Poncha Springs, was taken into custody and transported to the Chaffee County Detention Center. Phillips was also in possession of two debit cards that allegedly did not belong to him.
Phillips was held in the detention center on a $5,000.00 bond for the charges of Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, a Class 2 Drug Felony, Two Counts of Criminal Possession of a Financial Transaction Device, Class 6 Felonies, Possession of Less than 4 Grams of Cocaine, Class 1 Drug Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Petty Offense. Phillips is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
