The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a Salida man in connection with two burglaries.
On Monday, the sheriff’s office was contacted in regard to two separate burglaries. The first burglary was at a residence on County Road 160, the second was at a Parks and Wildlife building on County Road 154.
Investigators from the sheriff’s office soon realized that each incident was committed by the same person. The Salida Police Department assisted with the identification of the suspect who was taken into custody.
The suspect in both burglaries is 30-year-old Nicholas Shane Weaver from Salida. Weaver was booked into the Chaffee County Detention Center and charged with felony counts of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Investigators recovered all items that were reported stolen, including several firearms valued at $9,000.
Weaver is being held on a $10,000 cash only bond.
