Chaffee County Sheriff Adding Additional Resources Because of Presidential Inauguration

There has been much chatter in regard to groups or persons intent on disrupting the Inauguration as well as government operations across the country.   

Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze says that his office is not aware of any credible threats towards the county. Sheriff Spezze said in a press release, “We do however continue to monitor numerous sources including statewide public safety outlets to stay updated on any changes that may occur.”   

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is adding additional resources to their normal staffing on Inauguration Day this Wednesday. Their goal is to provide additional visibility at county critical assets as well as to provide an added layer of safety at these locations.   

The sheriff’s department anticipates no disruption to government services however they have prepared themselves for an unlikely event.
