Chaffee County Public Health COVID-19 Update for October 23rd

Chaffee County Public Health says there have been 28 new positive cases in the county in the last 7 days, 32 in the last 14 for a two-week positivity rate of 4.69 percent.

None of the new cases required hospitalization, all are resting at home.

The State of Colorado strongly recommends that a community’s positivity rate never exceeds 5 percent. Chaffee County Public Health Director Anrea Carlstrom says we have a short window of time to get our transmission rate back under control before the holiday season. In the days to come, remain vigilant and follow the 5 commitments to containment.

The San Luis Valley is reporting a total of 66 active Covid-19 cases, 12 in Saguache County.
