Chaffee County Covid-19 Two-Week Positivity Rate at 2.76 Percent

Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 7 new Covid-19 cases in the past 7 days, 26 in the last 14 days, for a 2-week positivity rate of 2.76 percent.   

There are 81 known Covid-19 cases in the San Luis Valley.   

Colorado’s Covid-19 Dial framework is ending today with control being turned over to local authorities.  Chaffee County Public Health is expected to release updated public health orders tomorrow updating mandates and guidelines.   

The statewide mask mandate remains in effect through May 2nd.

Chaffee County Public Health conducted its final first-dose community wide mass vaccination clinic this past Tuesday due to dwindling demand for appointments. Public Health will still offer Covid-19 vaccinations for the general public and hold smaller clinics and is developing plans for worksite and organization-based group vaccinations.   

Moving forward, people seeking a first-dose vaccination appointment can call 539-4510 or send an email to health@chaffeecounty.org to schedule.   

To date, over 16,000 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to Chaffee County residents.
