“Artificial Intelligence: Friend or Foe” is the title of the Central Colorado Humanists Sunday Science program for May 5.
Dr. Dan Bishop’s talk will address the developing field of artificial intelligence and its potential for good or harm. The program begins at 10:00 AM at the Scout Hut at 210 E Sacket, Salida, CO.
The presentation will identify the recent advances that have made AI a significant part of our daily lives as well as some of the astonishing advances and new applications that are revolutionizing our world. Dan will also address the dangers in the rampant proliferation of this new technology and what we can do to protect ourselves against false text and images created by AI.
Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
