The Town of Buena Vista has enacted outdoor watering restrictions as officials warn of worsening drought conditions driven by record low snowpack and rising temperatures.
An earlier-than-normal runoff season is expected, which could significantly impact water production. Town leaders are urging residents to prioritize water conservation and limit usage whenever possible.
Under the new guidelines, residents must follow an address-based watering schedule:
- Odd-numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
- Even-numbered addresses may water on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays
Outdoor watering is prohibited between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and no lawn watering is allowed on Mondays.
Town officials emphasize that watering should only occur when absolutely necessary as the community works to preserve limited water resources.
