The Friends of Browns Canyon is organizing a Browns Canyon National Monument hike this Saturday in celebration of Colorado Public Lands Day.

The moderate 4.5-mile round trip hike will take participants to Chloride Camp and Quartz Mountain in the Aspen Ridge Roadless Area, beginning from Turret Road. Along the route, hikers will learn about the rich history of Browns Canyon and the historic Chloride Camp area.

Participants will meet in Salida and carpool to the trailhead.
