Becker Defeats Brown for Republican Nomination for Chaffee Commissioner

Brandon Becker won the Republican nomination for Chaffee County Commissioner District 3 by picking up 54% of the primary vote last night. 

Becker had 1,660 votes to Alison Brown’s 1,393. Becker will face Democrat P.T. Wood for the District 3 Commissioner seat in November. 

In Custer County, Lloyd Smith defeated Brandon Schoch for Custer County Sheriff and Bradford Baltzly beat Vernon Roth for Custer County Coroner. 

In the Park County Commissioner race David Wissel defeated Ray Douglas for the Republican nomination.  Wissel will face Ashley Girodo in November.  Mel Kassel won the Republican nomination for Park County Clerk and will face Joann Blasberg in November.

In statewide races, Joe O’Dea won 55% of the vote to defeat Ron Hanks for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.  O’Dea will face incumbent Michael Bennet in November. 

Erik Aadland won the Republican primary for the District 7 Congressional seat. 

Heidi Ganahl beat Republican challenger Greg Lopez and will take on Democrat Jared Polis in November.
