Ballots Pour Into Clerks Office

65 percent of Chaffee County voters have already returned their ballot.

Chaffee County Clerk Lori Mitchell is reporting that as of last night, 9,906 ballots have been returned.

If you have not yet returned your general election ballot, don’t mail it.

Colorado voters are advised to drop their ballots off at one of the secure drop boxes or vote in-person at a polling place to ensure your vote is counted.

The drive through voter center outside the Chaffee County Courthouse on Crestone Avenue in Salida is open 8 am to 4:30 today and tomorrow, 8 am to 12 noon on Saturday.

Two more vote centers will open on Monday and Tuesday, at the Fairgrounds and the Buena Vista Community Center.  Monday hours will be 10 am to 4:30 pm, 7 am to 7 pm on Tuesday.

You can register to vote up to and on Election Day.

Ballots must be received by 7pm on Tuesday, November 3.
